Snoqualmie Holiday Reminders

With Christmas behind us and New Year’s Day quickly approaching I thought I’d give a couple quick holiday reminders.

Snoqualmie Valley garbage pickups will occur on your normally scheduled day.  Most years Christmas and New Year’s week garbage pickups occur one day late.  This year, though, because Christmas and New Year’s Day fall on a Saturday, there is no disruption to normal  pickup days.  Remember to get your garbage and recycling to the curb on your normal day – and be mindful of the wind.  Christmas decorations and wrapping paper fly in the wind!

There are a number of options for recycling your Christmas tree this year.  You can cut them into 3 foot sections and put them out with your yard waste.  The Boy Scouts will be doing curbside tree pickups again for a recommended $10 donation.  All trees must be curbside by 8AM on January 8th with the donation envelope attached to the tree.  Checks should be made out to BSA Troop 425.  No flocked or tinseled trees are accepted.

You can also bring your tree to the old Weyerhauser Mill Site on December 31st and January 8th from 9AM to 3PM and dispose of your tree for free.  Flocked or tinseled tree are once again NOT accepted.  Directions are:  At the intersection of State Route 202 and Snoqualmie Parkway, drive toward Snoqualmie Falls; immediately after crossing the bridge turn right onto Mill Pond Road; turn left at 0.1 miles; turn right at 0.4 miles; turn right at 0.2 miles.  There will be directional boards along the route.

Enjoy the rest of the holiday season!

  • Thanks for mentioning the scouts! Tree recycling is our major fund raiser for the year and the boys work hard so that they can attend camp and that the troop can cover its expenses.
