The Snoqualmie Valley School District announced the members of its newly formed Community Review and Recommendation Committee, or CRRC, a community advisory body that will help guide the development of a long-range, 30-year facilities capital plan for the district. The committee will spend the coming year reviewing facility needs, evaluating options and considering community input before submitting a recommendation to Superintendent Daniel Schlotfeldt and the School Board by June 1, 2027.
The district’s call for applicants drew significant community interest, with far more residents applying than there were available positions.
“The response we received was remarkable, and it made for a genuinely difficult selection process,” said Daniel Schlotfeldt, superintendent of Snoqualmie Valley School District. “We are grateful to everyone who stepped forward, and we worked hard to build a committee that reflects the full breadth of our community geographically, professionally and in perspective, so the plan this group develops truly belongs to the entire Snoqualmie Valley.”
In selecting about 25 community members, parents and stakeholders to serve, the district prioritized broad representation from Snoqualmie, North Bend and Fall City, along with a range of professional backgrounds, family circumstances and connections to district schools. The committee will also include two nonvoting School Board observers and additional district representatives who will support the work.
The CRRC will meet monthly to study the district’s current and future facility needs and develop recommendations for a long-range capital plan. The committee’s work will build on previous community engagement and facilities planning efforts, including the district’s 2021-22 facilities task force, the 2025 community feasibility survey and the grant-funded Study and Survey facility analysis.
Key areas of focus will include:
- Reviewing District enrollment projections, facility conditions and capacity needs across all schools
- Evaluating options for addressing those needs, including construction, renovation and potential phasing
- Considering community feedback related to cost, timing and priorities
- Developing a recommended 30-year facilities capital plan for consideration by the Superintendent and School Board
Meetings will be held monthly in the evenings on campuses and will be conducted through an open and transparent process. Agendas, meeting materials, summaries and other updates will be posted publicly so community members can follow the Committee’s work.
The district extends its appreciation to every resident who applied to serve. Applicants who were not selected will still have opportunities to provide input and share their perspectives as the process moves forward.
The committee’s first meeting will be scheduled in the coming weeks.
