Snoqualmie City Council to Interview Ten Applicants for Vacant Seat on May 6

The Snoqualmie City Council will interview ten applicants tomorrow, May 6, for the Position 6 vacancy left by Councilmember Cara Christensen, who stepped down effective March 16 after she and her family relocated out of the area.

The council received applications from the following candidates ahead of the April 13 deadline:

  • Ethan Benson: Former Snoqualmie City Councilmember (Position 1, 2021-2025) and longtime Serve Snoqualmie Sports Commissioner with 25 years as an elementary school teacher.
  • Tanya Lavoy: Current Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner employee with a Master of Public Administration and six years as a Washington State Senate legislative assistant.
  • Andre Testman: Snoqualmie Planning Commission Chair with a career spanning Marine Corps pilot, Amazon vendor manager, and Amazon Air safety management.
  • Alma Gomez: T-Mobile IT operations and end user support manager with over a decade in leadership.
  • Mandeep Walia, MD: Physician and Medical Director, currently serving on the Snoqualmie Human Services Advisory Committee and King County Medical Society Board.
  • Maggie Carrido Adams: Professional performing artist, former Microsoft executive assistant, and former IATSE union business agent.
  • William Donaldson: Licensed electrical contractor, multifamily property owner, and prior Snoqualmie City Council candidate in 2019.
  • Dr. Marcus Johnson: UW Foster School of Business faculty and senior advisor in Bellevue’s City Manager’s Office, who ran for Snoqualmie mayor in 2025.
  • Rene Price: Snoqualmie Valley School District Board Director and Chair of the City’s Parks and Events Commission.
  • Adrian Webb: Mortgage advisor, co-owner of Saints & Scholars Irish Pub, and member of the City’s Economic Development Committee.

Interviews begin at 5 p.m. at City Hall and are also available via Zoom. The council may vote to appoint a candidate the same evening. The appointed councilmember will serve until the results of the November 2027 general election are certified.
