Major Weekend Closure Ahead for Eastbound I-90 Off-Ramp at SR 18 Interchange

A weekend-long closure of the eastbound Interstate 90 off-ramp to State Route 18 and Snoqualmie Parkway will begin 9 p.m. Friday, May 8, as part of the I-90/SR 18 Interchange Improvements and Widening project.

From 9 p.m. Friday, May 8, to 5 a.m. Monday, May 11, the off-ramp of eastbound I-90 to SR 18/Snoqualmie Parkway will close, along with the right lane of westbound SR 18 between the diverging diamond interchange and Southeast 104th Street. Drivers in the Snoqualmie area should plan ahead and add extra time for travel during this closure.

Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will install final pavement on four lanes of the off-ramp, along with portions of the right lane and shoulder of westbound SR 18 to the Lake Creek Bridge. Crews will also install guardrail and curbing and adjust stormwater drainage during this closure.

Detour route
Eastbound I-90 traffic will not be allowed to exit to westbound SR 18 or Snoqualmie Parkway at exit 25. Drivers should follow the signed detour to exit 27, North Bend/Snoqualmie (Winery Road), looping around to westbound I-90, then exiting at SR 18/Snoqualmie Parkway.

This work depends on dry weather and may be rescheduled if rain is forecast.

Additional weekend closures planned
This ramp work represents the first of four weekend-long ramp closures for the I-90/SR 18 Interchange Improvements project.

An extended weekend closure of SR 18 under I-90 with all right-turning ramps open is tentatively scheduled to begin in late May or early June. Once all paving is complete, there will be an additional weekend closure to install permanent striping throughout the project.
