The City of Duvall is proud to announce the completion of two new public murals that not only celebrate our community’s creativity, collaboration, and local pride, but also significantly enhance our Cityscape. These vibrant works of art, with their bold colors and unique designs, reflect Duvall’s unique spirit and commitment to supporting the arts.
The City of Duvall and Mayor Amy Ockerlander express their heartfelt appreciation to the Duvall Cultural Commission for their leadership, stewardship of the arts, and guidance in bringing these projects to fruition. Their commitment to promoting the arts in our community is truly commendable. The city would also like to offer thanks and appreciation to the Duvall City Council for their unwavering support of public art initiatives that foster community bonds and enhance the aesthetic appeal of our shared spaces.
“These murals are a testament to Duvall’s dedication to fostering creativity and community engagement,” said Cynthia McNabb, City Administrator. “Public art inspires, brings people together, and showcases the incredible talent we have right here in Duvall and the Snoqualmie River Valley region.”

One of the murals, called “Greetings from Duvall,” is located at 1st Avenue NE and Virginia Avenue and was created by muralist Brenda Choi. The letter “O” in the word “Home” is represented by a heart and was filled in with the handprints of dozens of community members. Each letter in the name “Duvall” features a distinctive artistic representation of a place or event that makes the City of Duvall special.
The second mural, titled “Birds of the Snoqualmie Valley,” was created by Cedarcrest High School artist Alex Kimbrel, located at 1st Avenue, NE and Main Street. If you look closely, you may see some special characters hidden amongst our native birds. We welcome everyone to come visit these beautiful works of art!
In addition, the City of Duvall and the Cultural Commission are thrilled to announce the upcoming release of two new Calls for Artists: Native Plants/Flowers of the Snoqualmie Valley and the Night Sky. We look forward to seeing the diverse perspectives and talents that our artists will bring to these future projects. Please visit https://duvallwa.gov/174/Call-for-Artists for more information on the new murals.

Beautiful work! I would hope that other cities in the Snoqualmie Valley would provide similar spaces and encourage city residents to contribute to similar murals!
