Snoqualmie sees rash of vandalism, graffiti; citizens encouraged to report destructive acts

Over the past two weeks, there have been multiple reports by residents on the Snoqualmie Ridge Facebook page documenting increased incidents of graffiti around the city.

Timber Ridge Elementary, the new Bartell Drugs and a large sign at the corner of Snoqualmie Parkway and Center Street were all tagged in just the past week. There have also been social media reports of other types of recent vandalism, including bike tires being slashed and play equipment being damaged at local parks.

The Snoqualmie Police Department stated on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, that they continue to receive calls about the graffiti – and that officers have an active, on-going investigation that has produced several leads.

SPD is encouraging residents to call police and report anything they see that could be associated with the recent rash of graffiti. Citizens are also encouraged to call police to report other acts of vandalism so that the department can track the destructive activity.

Snoqualmie Police Chief Perry Phipps said they haven’t received any new vandalism reports in the past three days. Residents are advised to report vandalism to police, in addition to local social media sites.

The Snoqualmie Police Department can be reached at 911 for emergencies and after hours/on weekends and 425.888.3333 on the non-emergency line.
