If spending a September evening wandering through farm fields, sipping a cocktail and sitting down to a farm-to-table dinner sounds like a good way to welcome fall, Oxbow Farm & Conservation Center has you covered.
Oxbow’s Family Dinner on the Farm returns Saturday, September 19, 2026, at its Carnation farm. The event runs from 3:30 to 7:30 pm, with dinner beginning at 5:15 pm
The annual event combines seasonal food, family activities and fundraising, all while giving guests a chance to spend an evening on the farm and support Oxbow’s work in food security, biodiversity and sustainable agriculture.
The afternoon starts with family activities, cocktails and appetizers. Guests can wander the farm, make flower crowns, stop for some fun photo ops and enjoy wine and specialty beverages before dinner.
Something for the Kids, Too
Families have two choices for younger guests. Kids can stay at the table with their families and enjoy the same four-course, family-style dinner as the adults. Seated Child tickets are available for youth up to age 17. Or kids ages 4 and older can head to Oxbow’s Kids’ Zone for an evening with the farm’s environmental education team.

The Kids’ Program includes outdoor exploration, nature-based games and hands-on activities. Past favorites have included cider pressing and an apple slingshot. Kids in the program also get their own veggie snacks and pizza dinner, with gluten-free and dairy-free options available.
Please note: Children under 4 and those still in diapers need to remain with their parents during the event.
What’s for Dinner?
The farm-to-table meal will be prepared by Chef Jason A. Vickers of Natoncks Metsu (Feeding My Cousins) and Chef Seth Fernald, Oxbow’s Resident Chef Emeritus.

The evening begins with passed appetizers including fire-roasted poblano and tomato relish, spring pea cakes with Pacific salmon lox and grilled venison skewers.
Dinner is served family-style, with dishes including woodland-spiced salmon, nettle pesto-rubbed chicken, roasted seasonal root vegetables, lemon-and-herb farro with greens, and Yukon Gold potato and celeriac mash.
And save room for dessert. The menu includes nettle shortbread goat cheese cheesecake with huckleberry jam, plum galette with Snoqualmie Tribal honey drizzle, and pear pie crumble with cedar caramel drizzle.
A plated vegan meal is available upon request, and several dishes are vegan, dairy-free or gluten-free.

Dinner With a Purpose
Family Dinner on the Farm is also an important fundraiser for Oxbow. During the evening, guests can participate in a silent auction and Raise the Paddle fundraiser, with proceeds supporting Oxbow’s mission and programs.
- Adult tickets are $250 and include admission, the reception with wine and specialty beverages and the farm-to-table dinner.
