Earth and Arbor Day Celebrations Take Root Across the Snoqualmie Valley

Communities across the Snoqualmie Valley are marking Earth and Arbor Day with a series of events focused on sustainability, education, and hands-on activities.

From festivals and tree giveaways to community cleanups, several cities are inviting residents to get involved this April, with at least one more local event expected to be added.

Duvall

The city will host its Earth and Arbor Day Festival on April 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Depot Park. The free, family-friendly event will feature interactive booths from local environmental groups offering information on topics like water conservation, stormwater management, recycling, and energy use.

Activities include a build-a-terrarium booth, an eco-themed scavenger hunt, and giveaways of plants, trees, shrubs, and saplings while supplies last. Organizers say the event is designed to bring the community together while offering practical ways to learn about and support environmental sustainability.

North Bend

In North Bend, community members are invited to take part in Beautification Day and an Earth Day proclamation by Mayor Miller on April 22 at the Train Depot, with the North Bend Downtown Foundation, the City of North Bend, and Recology King County inviting community members to participate.

Following a quick talk about pickup with Recology King County, participants will receive supplies and spread out across the city to pick up litter until about 10:30 a.m. Organizers also encourage residents to participate independently by cleaning up neighborhoods, parks, or other public spaces at any time that day.

Carnation

The Fourth Annual Arbor Day Celebration in Carnation is set for April 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tolt Commons. The event will include live music, arts and crafts, a pruning demonstration, storytelling, and a variety of family-friendly activities.

A tree parade will begin at 2 p.m., leading to a planting at Valley Memorial Park at 3 p.m. The first 250 families will receive free native trees or shrubs. Event organizers say the celebration highlights the importance of maintaining a healthy tree canopy, especially as rising temperatures impact the region.

Snoqualmie

Details for a Snoqualmie Earth or Arbor Day event are expected to be announced soon, which will round out participation from multiple Valley cities. Information will be added as it becomes available.

Across the Snoqualmie Valley, these events offer a range of ways for residents to connect with their communities while learning more about environmental stewardship, whether by planting trees, picking up litter, or simply spending time outdoors.
