Two NEW restaurants coming to the Snoqualmie Valley

It looks like two new restaurants will be calling North Bend home in the coming months – each on different ends of the downtown area.

According to a City of North Bend ‘Notice of Application’ a new building is being proposed for a vacant lot adjacent the North Bend Post Office that would house a restaurant on the first floor and office space on the second floor.

Per the application, the building would be 3,600 square feet and occupy the just over 1/2 property that is zoned downtown commercial, allowing for this type building. The land parcel is located between the Mt. Si Court Apartments and the post office on E. North Bend Way.

It isn’t known yet when the new building would be ready. Lisa Riley, who lost her almost-open restaurant in the massive North Bend natural gas explosion in April 2014 confirmed she is involved in the new restaurant project – but would not reveal yet the name of her new place.

Italian Food coming to town

Meanwhile, on the other end of downtown North Bend an Italian restaurant is preparing to open in the former Emerald City Smoothie spot on Bendigo Blvd between Birches Habitat and the North Bend Theatre.

According to Liquor License application notice in the window, the restaurant will be called IL Paesano Ristorante – and according to some Facebook postings the owner may be the former owner of Gianfranco’s in downtown Snoqualmie.  (That information has not yet been confirmed, though.)

No official opening date is known yet, but interior work on the space is underway. North Bend Theatre owner Cindy Walker, who peeked inside the space, said the decor definitely looks Italian.

Happy eating Snoqualmie Valley!
