As of 12:44 p.m. Sunday, October 26, power outages continue to affect the Snoqualmie Valley and much of Puget Sound Energy’s service area following a night of strong winds and heavy rain. PSE reports that crews are working around the clock to restore electricity after gusts near 60 mph caused widespread outages and tree damage throughout the region.
Since the storm began Saturday, more than 380,000 customers have had power restored, but about 115,000 remain without service. Local outages include:
- North Bend – 1,954
- Snoqualmie – 298
- Carnation – 212
- Fall City – 561
- Duvall – 88
Tanner Electric Cooperative is also reporting two outages in North Bend.
PSE says the most severe damage occurred in Thurston and Pierce counties, where falling trees and high winds brought down both neighborhood power lines and the larger transmission lines that supply power to communities. Helicopters were dispatched Sunday morning to inspect damage to those transmission lines, which must be repaired before crews can restore neighborhood service.
The utility has 69 crews in the field and additional reinforcements brought in from outside the area. PSE reports it has the necessary equipment and materials to handle the storm damage and will continue working until every customer’s power is restored.
There are currently no estimated restoration times for local outages. Updates will be posted as soon as crews can safely assess conditions at pse.com/outagemap and on the myPSE app. Residents are reminded to stay at least 35 feet away from downed power lines and to report them by calling 1-888-225-5773 or 911.
