Snoqualmie Valley Rotary Presents Big Check to Food Bank, Helps Provide over Million Food Servings to local Families

On Thursday November 19, 2015, Rotary of Snoqualmie Valley presented a big check – in the amount of $7,500 to the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank.

Rotary President Dan Marcinko presented the check to the food bank’s Board of Directors President Sharon Augenstein while highlighting the rotary’s three-year commitment to fight hunger in the Snoqualmie Valley – a passionate issue for many local rotarians.

In 2013 Rotary began its campaign against hunger by partnering with Rotary First Harvest and the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank. The President’s Cup Golf Tournament (Rotary’s big fundraiser) is held each June at the TPC Snoqualmie Ridge, with event proceeds forwarded to the respective organizations.

“This is why I am part of Rotary,” explained Marcinko as the check was presented. “What is earned, every penny of it, goes to the community.”

Since the inception of the President’s Cup in 2013, a million and a half servings of food have been generated for Washington’s families by Rotary – and Rotary First Harvest’s mission ensures that a good portion of those servings are fresh food, from local agriculture.

The Snoqualmie Valley Rotary meets every Thursday at 7am for breakfast at the TPC Snoqualmie Ridge. They say guests are always welcome.

On a personal note – I was recently invited to a rotary breakfast meeting and was very impressed with the welcoming environment and this committed group of individuals.  Great work Snoqualmie Valley Rotary!
