UPDATE | June 21st, 2019, 4AM

Correction: KCSO Sgt. Ryan Abbott corrected the earlier information given that the male teen had not located during the search. Sgt. Abbott said the juvenile was actually located by Echo Glen staff and police around 6PM. He also sent out a Tweet apologizing for any confusion.

On June 20, 2019 at 5:30PM, King County Sheriff’s Office Guardian 1 helicopter was over the I-90/SR 18 area of Snoqualmie looking for a juvenile who had escaped from Echo Glen Children’s Center during the late afternoon.

KCSO Sgt. Ryan Abbott described the teen as Hispanic and 14-years old. SPD Captain Nick Almquist said the teen is 6 feet tall and a ‘low level offender for auto theft.’

As of 5:30PM Sgt Abbott said the boy had not been located. One witness near Jeanne Hansen Park reported seeing multiple adults in the vicinity of the park also searching on foot.

More information will be added as it becomes available.

  • Echo Glen “Children’s Center.” Not to be confused with a maximum security juvenile prison where the state’s worst murderers and rapists live until they turn 18.

I know it was here first, but maybe instead of spending millions on free needles and lawsuits against the federal government, the state could relocate this place to somewhere other than a few hundred yards from an elementary school and densely populated, family oriented community.
