Updated: Overturned Semi at SR-18 Westbound Creates short back-up on I-90 Tuesday Morning

Updated 12:39 PM: The semi and its load are now clear on westbound SR 18 under I-90

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) says a semi-truck overturned at exit 25 as it turned onto WB SR 18 from WB I-90 around 8:20 AM Tuesday, July 5th, 2022.

This is a one semi rollover with no injuries. Expect delays through the area while tow trucks work to recover the truck.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes until the truck is recovered, but traffic appears to be moving smoothly through the intersection.

  • would something like a hockey sidewall work there? only needs to fill the gap between the overpass and the traffic light. install pilings and mount slippery teflon coated sheets 20′ tall on the road side so when the trucks that are trying to beat the light race around the corner and tip, there is an energy absorbing wall to prevent them from tipping over. Kinda like the pilings absorb shock from the ferries at the terminals.
