Overnight Tuesday, December 22, 2020, Puget Sound Energy (PSE) will begin work to underground overhead power and communication lines along a section of E North Bend Way near the new Park Street roundabout.
Construction will occur on E North Bend Way between the North Bend Motel and QFC. The initial utility work will occur overnight, December 22 and 23, from 9PM to 6AM. Crews are utilizing overnight hours for this initial work to avoid significant traffic impacts.
A detour will be set up along Park Street because of a required closure of the westbound exit lane of the roundabout. This North Bend Way lane closure and detour will only be in place during overnight work hours.
PSE will also be performing daytime work, but all traffic lanes will remain open during those hours. The City anticipates minimal traffic delays with this construction.
This utility undergrounding work is expected to be completed in mid-January.
