It’s taken awhile, but the new Tollgate Farm Park, near downtown North Bend, is at last nearing completion; providing Snoqualmie Valley residents with access to another park.
A couple of the final, key project elements were completed recently, including a boardwalk trail connection that runs underneath North Bend Way and a restroom building that was delivered last week.
The Si View Parks Department says the remaining, final touches on the park will happen during the upcoming weeks of November.
Tollgate Farm Park, located along North Bend Way between NW 8th Street and Stone Quarry Road, was funded by a 2010 voter-approved parks bond and a percentage of park impact fees from the City of North Bend. It is a partnership project, with the City of North Bend owning the Tollgate Farm Park land and Si View Parks developing and maintaining the park and its programs.
The park features paved access and parking area, restrooms, children’s playground and extensive gravel surface trails, running about one-mile around Tollgate Farm’s natural pasture and meadow areas. The park trail connects to trails on the north side of SR 202, with that key boardwalk running under the roadway.
