New Police Captain Gary Horejsi Sworn In; Officer Chase Smith Pinned as Sergeant

On March 25, 2024, Gary Horejsi was sworn in as the new Captain of the Snoqualmie Police Department.

Captain Horejsi’s law enforcement career started in Texas in 2006. It was followed by a move and transfer in 2011 to the Enumclaw Police Department, where he served as a Police Officer and, later, in 2018, as a Patrol Sergeant.

Among other experiences and accolades during his career, Cpt. Horejsi helmed the multi-agency Coalition of Small Police Agencies’ Major Crimes Task Force.

Also, Officer Chase Smith was pinned as a sergeant at the council meeting. Sgt. Smith started his law enforcement career in Federal Way and has been a police officer in Snoqualmie for the last seven years.

He has served the department as a driving instructor, an officer in charge, and a recruiting coordinator, among other duties.

Congratulations to Cpt. Horejsi and Sgt. Smith.
