Helicopter Activity in North Bend – Searching for Missing Skydiver

If you were hearing helicopters in the Valley this afternoon, you weren’t alone. The King County Sheriff’s Office says a helicopter skydiver was reported missing in the North Bend area near the 43000 block of SE 92nd.

Reader Cindi Bowles reported seeing “two (or three) helicopters circling around foot of Mt. Si, over river, between Silver Creek & Ernie’s Grove neighborhoods.”

King County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Cindi West said search and rescue teams were in route around 3PM, January 3rd.  Komo News reports that “the helicopter pilot reported that the skydiver had made a jump from about 2,000 feet near Mount Si, but never showed up at the landing site.”

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
