Fire Blotter | Tanker leaking brown stuff; tree across 202; panic attack; two-car accident on Railroad

Here are a few of the calls the Snoqualmie Fire Department responded two during the past two weeks.

September 26th

Around 9:40AM Snoqualmie Firefighters along with numerous other emergency crews responded to a large damaged tanker truck near SR18, leaking a brown liquid out of its discharge port near the rear of the tanker. Appeared to have been leaking for several hours as the fluid had spread down a dirt road and into a ditch approximately 50 feet. Tanker had no placards, but a license plate. Washington State Patrol identified the liquid to be a non-toxic organic substance. Crews created a large dirt dike to catch leaking liquid and scene left in control of State Patrol.

September 27th

Around 11:30AM Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to a fire alarm activation inside Key bank. Employees burnt a bagel and had set off the alarm. System was reset.

September 29th

Around 4:30PM Snoqualmie Firefighters dispatched with other units to a rollover motor vehicle accident on westbound I-90. Crew provided a courtesy transport of the family off the freeway to a place where they could get some food and wait for someone to come and get them.

September 30th

Around 2:30PM Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to a commercial fire alarm set off by a young child activating a pull station. Alarm was left in trouble mode and a technician called to repair the pull station.

Around 3:15PM Snoqualmie Firefighters were dispatched to a fire alarm at Snoqualmie Middle School. Alarm was set off by a bad beam detector. Detector was checked and alarm reset.

October 1st

Around 6PM Snoqualmie Firefighters assisted the Snoqualmie Police Department with shutting off a car’s horn after it was involved in an accident.

October 2nd

Around 6:30PM Snoqualmie Firefighters dispatched to evaluate a patient in custody of the Snoqualmie Police Department. Patient refused evaluation and any care.

October 5th

Around 4:30PM Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to a two-car accident on Railroad Avenue. A total of 3 individuals with minor injuries were transported to Swedish Hospital in Issaquah.

At 9:35PM Snoqualmie Firefighters were dispatched to a residential fire alarm. The fire alarm company called and stated the homeowner was changing a battery which set off the alarm, but they were unable to cancel. Firefighters continued, contacted the homeowner to confirm there was no problem.

October 7th

At 12:50PM Snoqualmie Firefighters called to SR 202 where a large tree was blocking both lanes. A witness saw the tree fall, but no vehicles or power lines involved. Crews removed the tree from road and advised the Snoqualmie Public Works Department about the residue.

Around 2:10PM Snoqualmie Firefighters dispatched to a reported fire along SR 18. Crews could not find a fire at the location given.

Around 5:30PM Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to a Medic Alert alarm. Crews determined the alarm was set off accidentally by user.

October 8th

Around 8:30AM Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to a 35-year old female experiencing chest pain and feeling dizzy. Patient was seen earlier in the week for the same symptoms and was prescribed panic attack medications. Patient drove herself to her doctor.

Around 11AM Snoqualmie Firefighters were called to a report of a tree that was leaning onto power lines over the road. There was no fire or arcing. Crew put cones on each side of the hazard and notified Puget Sound Energy. ETA was 40 minutes, so crews left the cones at the incident and returned to the station.

Around 12:20PM Snoqualmie Firefighters along with multiple other units were called to a motor vehicle accident along I-90 where the driver required extraction. Crews extracted patient who was uninjured and left them in care of Washington State Patrol.

October 9th

Around 6:30AM Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to a commercial fire alarm. An open pull-station was discovered and reset.

Around 8PM Snoqualmie Firefighters were called to a residence where a 69-year old was experiencing fainting symptoms. Crews transported her to Snoqualmie Valley Hospital.

Around 8:15PM Snoqualmie Firefighters were dispatched to a fire alarm at the Hampton Hotel. Steam in the locker room had set off the alarm. Crews cleared the steam from the room and reset the alarm.

At 11:40PM Snoqualmie Firefighters evaluated a 56-year-old female who was complaining of left arm pain. She was transported to Swedish Hospital in Issaquah.

[In addition to the above calls, Snoqualmie EMTs responded to 20 medical aid incidents bringing the total number of calls to date of 948 for 2019.]
