Winter Homeless Shelter Opening for Second Season in North Bend; Public Meeting Tomorrow

This first of two public meetings to discuss  the 2013-14 homeless winter shelter season happens on Monday evening, October 21, 2013 from 6 – 7:30PM at North Bend Community Church, 146 East 3rd Street in North Bend.

Shelter sponsor,Valley Renewal Center, launched the winter shelter in December 2012 under the name Snoqualmie Valley Winter Shelter.  AfterNBCC a successful first year filled with community support, including an outpouring of donations and volunteers, organizers are bringing the overnight shelter back to North Bend.

The public meetings will give Valley Renewal Center a chance to share plans regarding the shelter’s second season and answer questions from community members.

The second public meeting will happen on Saturday, November 2, 2013, from 11AM – 12:30PM – also at North Bend Community Church.

Valley Renewal Center officially opens for the season on Friday, November 15, 2013 at North Bend Community Church.  It provides overnight shelter during the Valley’s coldest months for up to 40 homeless men, women and children – giving them a warm place to sleep, meals and access to information to help themselves.
