Wildcats Ty Mitton and Jay Boivin Finish Season at State Champs

Mt Si Juniors Ty Mitton and Jay Boivin closed out their Wildcat Boys Swim and Dive season with impressive showings at State Championships in Federal Way.

Competing in the Men’s 1-meter Diving Prelims, Ty easily qualified for Finals in third place out of a field of twenty.

He held his own against tough competition from training partner Robert Gref of Issaquah High School and Lake Stevens High School’s Jaden Cardona during finals finishing 3rd overall.

Swimmer Jay Boivin competed in the 200 and 500 freestyle events, finishing 12th and 13th respectively in prelims earning him a spot in the B Heat for Finals.

He came back strong the next night at finals, clocking in a personal best in the 200 free of 1:48:98 and shaving off a whopping 7.96 seconds from his entry time in the 500. He finished 1st in both his heats, earning him 9th place overall in both events.
