Weekend Recycling Event – that even Takes all those Old, boxy TV’s

On Saturday, April 23rd, 2016 the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe and the City of North Bend are hosting a freerecycle special recycling event at the Mount Si High School Freshman Campus.

King County residents may bring their spring-cleaning clutter and household materials to recycle for free. According to a press release from the Snoqualmie Tribe, there will also be a limited number of prizes for attendees.

“The City of North Bend is excited for the opportunity to work collaboratively with the Snoqualmie Tribe to preserve our beautiful natural resources through this recycling effort,” said Mayor of North Bend Ken Hearing. “I encourage our citizens to take advantage of this great opportunity.”

Items accepted at the free recycling event include scrap metal, appliances, mattresses, electronics, televisions, batteries, petroleum products, tires, light bulbs, and clothing and household items. Items that will not be accepted include household paint, pesticides, or household chemicals.

We double-checked and even old boxy CRT television sets will be accepted during the event.

“The Tribe values this partnership with the City of North Bend and its residents,” said Tribal Chairwoman Carolyn Lubenau. “Together, we want to ensure there is a way for people to responsibly, and affordably, dispose of used home materials and do their part to protect the environment.”

In addition to the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe and the City of North Bend, the other event sponsors include the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program in King County, the King County Solid Waste Division, and the Washington State Department of Ecology.
