‘The Voice’ Finalist, Austin Jenckes, Gives Hometown Benefit Concert for Oso Mudslide Victims

You saw him on The Voice.  Now you can see him in person.

Duvall-raised singer and songwriter, Austin Jenckes, will play a solo concert this Saturday, April 19, 2014, to benefit victims of the March 22nd Oso OSOBENEFIT-web-300x295Mudslide.  The concert happens at the Riverview School District Educational Service Center, 15510 First Ave in Duvall.

Tickets are $15 if purchased in advance (24 hours before curtain) at www.brownpapertickets.com. They are $20 at the door.

Jenckes showed the world some of what Snoqualmie Valley locals have loved for years, being  selected for Team Blake on season 5 of The Voice. He then went on to become one of season’s top-10 finalists.

Since appearing on the show last fall, Jenckes has been touring from Bellingham to L.A., Montana, Texas and New York.  Seattle Times ‘Soundposts’ writer, Owen Smith, said this about a recent performance:

‘Full of an infectious energy that seemed to thrum deep within him, country singer-songwriter Austin Jenckes burst onto The Crocodile’s stage in a whirl of heartfelt lyrics and syrupy, satisfying hooks. He showed off his songwriting pedigree with ‘Get You Higher’, another polished piece of pop country with soaring vocals and a sing-a-long chorus.’

Having grown up in Duvall, Jenckes has a close connection to the small-town lifestyle. Having just returned to the Snoqualmie Valley after extensive touring, Jenckes was provided the perfect opportunity to tap into his large, local fan base to raise money for the ongoing relief efforts in Oso.

All revenue from concert ticket sales will go to the North Counties Relief Fund.
