Unveiling Nature’s Majesty: The Falls, Vol. 1 at Scott Rinckenberger Gallery

Scott Rinckenberger, acclaimed photographer and adventurer, will unveil a new fall show at his gallery on October 4th.

The gallery space, designed to be a cultural center in the idyllic mountain town of North Bend, is a year old. It features a rotating selection of Scott’s work, capturing images celebrating the subtle and sublime elements that inspire his life in the mountains and the greater Snoqualmie Valley.

A decade ago, Scott and his family moved to a beautifully forested property just below Snoqualmie Falls. Over the subsequent years, he has visited and photographed the falls in every season and every state of conditions, from deep freeze to thundering flood, from pools in the riverbed to helicopters overhead.

The 6th gallery show, The Falls Vol. 1, is a collection of large-format photographs that will leave the viewer awestruck by the alchemy of water, stone, light and gravity.

“I pass the falls most every day and relish any excuse to stop and see the show. A bit of golden light in a late summer sunset, a morning fog swirling in the falls basin. One night, I realized that the path of a rising full moon would be directly above the falls. I donned a wetsuit, put my camera in a dry bag, and swam up the river to see the very creation story play out in real-time as the moon and the falls combined to render the world anew.”

Scott specializes in photographing some of the most pristine and wild places accessible under human power. A lifelong mountain athlete, Scott’s work is steeped in an admiration for alpine ecosystems. His distinctively reductive compositions of these wild places have been recognized with international awards and art exhibitions and featured with some of the world’s most respected brands, including Apple, REI, OR and Patagonia.

As the preponderance of Scott’s photography is created in wilderness settings, his work is inextricably linked to the environment. Scott actively supports local and global environmental efforts by committing to 1% For The Planet. He hopes that this work will inspire people to seek experiences that spark a close examination of life, create a deep appreciation for its inherent beauty, and result in a lifelong commitment to explore, protect and become an integral part of the beautiful tapestry of nature.
