Two Westbound I-90 Closures Sept. 19–22: Ramp to SR 18/Snoqualmie Parkway and Lane Reduction in Issaquah

The westbound Interstate 90 off-ramp to State Route 18/Snoqualmie Parkway will close from 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, to 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, to install guardrail and curbing near Snoqualmie.

During the ramp closure, westbound I-90 drivers should follow a signed detour, which loops around at Preston/Fall City (Exit 22) and uses the eastbound I-90 off-ramp to SR 18/Snoqualmie Parkway.

Before the ramp closure, eastbound I-90 will be reduced to one open lane from 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, to 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, to install traffic counting loops in the pavement near the I-90/SR 18 interchange.

People traveling through the area during the closures should expect delays. Some of the work requires dry weather and may be rescheduled if rain is forecast.

In addition to the new diverging diamond interchange, the I-90/SR 18 Interchange Improvements project is widening SR 18 to two lanes in each direction between I-90 and Deep Creek. That work is expected to finish later this fall.

WB I-90 lane reduction in Issaquah

People traveling on westbound I-90 also should be aware that a pavement repair project in Issaquah will reduce the highway to one lane from 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, to 8 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 21.

The project replaced the waterproof membranes and pavement and repaired expansion joints on the left half of two bridges near Front Street, Sept. 12-14. The Sept. 19-21 lane reduction, which requires dry weather, will make similar repairs on the right side of the bridges. People should expect delays, especially during busy travel times.
