Two Charged in Snoqualmie Ridge Burglary and Vehicle Theft Case

Charges were filed following a Snoqualmie police investigation into a residential burglary and vehicle theft in the Snoqualmie Ridge neighborhood on January 12, according to police and court documents.

Haley Ann Roy and Michael Joseph Lemay were booked into King County Jail on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after officers linked them to a garage burglary, the theft of an Audi SUV, and additional thefts reported nearby.

Snoqualmie police began investigating the case early the morning of the 12th after receiving a report of a residential burglary in the Snoqualmie Ridge neighborhood.

According to police and charging documents, surveillance footage showed two suspects arriving in a white sedan and prowling a vehicle parked in a driveway. Investigators say the suspects took a garage door opener from inside the vehicle, then used it to access the home’s garage. Once inside, they removed property from the garage and left the area. A short time later, the same suspects returned to the residence and again entered the garage.

During the second visit, investigators say one of the suspects entered the garage and drove away in an Audi SUV that had been parked inside. Police said the vehicle was reported stolen after it was taken from the garage.

Investigators also linked the same suspects to additional thefts in the neighborhood. According to police, surveillance footage from nearby homes showed the same suspects stealing packages from porches.

After a briefing between shifts, Snoqualmie police later spotted the suspect vehicle in the parking lot of the Snoqualmie Safeway, according to police.

Officers contacted the vehicle and placed a Terminator (portable tire deflation device) under the tires. A man and a woman were detained. Police confirmed the vehicle they were driving had been reported stolen in Seattle and was displaying license plates reported stolen in Tacoma. Both suspects were taken into custody.

According to police and charging documents, both suspects made statements during recorded interviews after being advised of their Miranda rights. Investigators said the suspects admitted their involvement in the residential burglary, the theft of the Audi SUV, and additional thefts reported in the area.

Police said the suspects provided the location of the stolen Audi. Officers recovered the vehicle later that day and returned it to its owners that night.

Charging documents filed in King County Superior Court list multiple felony and misdemeanor counts against both defendants.

Roy is charged with two counts of residential burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, and third-degree theft. Lemay is charged with two counts of residential burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, third-degree theft, taking a motor vehicle without permission in the second degree, and vehicle prowling in the second degree.

Both suspects were booked into King County Jail on the listed charges.

The cases have been referred to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and remain pending in King County Superior Court.
