Traffic Alert: Daytime Lane Closures Planned for Eastbound SR 18 Approaching Tiger Mountain

Drilling work on State Route 18 will require weekday closures of the right eastbound lane through the end of November.

The lane will be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Washington State Department of Transportation drilling crews are working in approximately 2-mile sections between Issaquah/Hobart Road and the Tiger Mountain summit.

The lane will not be closed on weekends or the following holidays:

  • Friday, Nov. 11 – Veterans Day
  • Noon, Wednesday, Nov. 23 through noon, Monday, Nov. 28 – Thanksgiving weekend

The drilling crews are gathering information about the soil under the highway in preparation for the SR 18 Issaquah/Hobart Road to Deep Creek widening project

The $665 million project will widen the highway to two lanes in each direction between Issaquah/Hobart Road and Deep Creek, where it will connect to the wider lanes built as part of the I-90/SR 18 interchange improvements project. SR 18 widening could start construction as early as 2025 after work is completed on the interchange.
