The general election in King County is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, 2025, and the candidate filing period is just around the corner. If you’ve ever considered public service, now’s the time to act.
Several Snoqualmie Valley positions will be on the ballot this year. In Snoqualmie, voters will select candidates for Mayor and City Council Positions 1, 3, 5, and 7. In North Bend, the terms for City Council Positions 2, 4, and 6 are expiring.
Carnation has two council seats open: positions 2 and 4. Duvall will select candidates for Mayor and three City Council seats are up for election: positions 1, 3, and 6.
To appear on the ballot, potential candidates must complete and submit a Declaration of Candidacy during the official filing period and meet the necessary qualifications, including being a registered voter and having lived in the city for at least one year.
Key Filing Dates for 2025:
- Online Filing: Monday, May 5 at 8 a.m. through Friday, May 9 at 5 p.m.
- In-Person Filing: Monday, May 5 at 8 a.m. through Friday, May 9 at 5 p.m.
Note: King County Elections strongly recommends filing online for speed and convenience.
If you change your mind after filing, the deadline to withdraw your candidacy is Monday, May 12, at 5 p.m.

- General Election: Tuesday, November 4, 2025
