Temporary full Road Closures expected along Orchard Drive for new apartment complex project

Via press release the City of North Bend announced some upcoming full road closures required for work on the new 41-unit Orchard Place Apartment Complex in the downtown area.

Clearing and grading began for this project last month – along SE Orchard Drive. Additionally, the project includes improvements to the city’s public water, sewer, and storm drainage systems in SE Orchard Drive.

The city said, “While most of the work in the right of way can be accommodated by single lane closures, four short-term temporary full road closures during daytime hours are now anticipated to be needed. Detour routes will be provided for the public. Local access for residents within the closure area will be available.”

The Orchard Drive closure area is located south of the intersection of Orchard Drive and North Bend Way and just north of the east entrance to Mt Si Apartment complex. Access to Mt Si Apartments will remain open.

Closures will occur on the following days from approximately 9:15AM to 3:30PM. Closure dates and times are weather dependent.

• Wednesday, June 13th 2018
• Thursday, June 14th 2018
• Two days, late June/early July TBD

Per the press release the city said it “recognizes that construction in this road corridor could be a significant inconvenience to you. However, we will continue to make public safety our number one priority.”
