In the five years I’ve been running Living Snoqualmie, I’ve never taken a vacation without bringing my laptop and working.
On Thursday, I’m heading to New York City with my sister to see the Christmas markets, the Rockettes, stay near Radio City Music Hall, and visit relatives. I am going to try not to take my laptop. I may not succeed, but I’m attempting personal growth.
I’ll still keep an eye on things, and I have a few stories ready to go, but I won’t be posting regularly while I’m gone. The site will be quieter for a few days while I test my willpower.
Thank you for reading and supporting Living Snoqualmie. I’ll be back soon, hopefully slightly more relaxed and only mildly twitchy from laptop withdrawal.

If you need any encouragement, you should definitely leave your laptop at home and enjoy your time in New York without thinking about work. It’s not easy to do, but you’ll be glad you did later in life!
Enjoy!
