Attention parents! Do you have a child starting kindergarten in the 2011/2012 school year? If so, tomorrow is your registration day. Each of the district’s five elementary schools will be registering 2011/12 kindergarten students tomorrow, March 1st. Students are not required to attend. Parents should bring along their child’s birth certificate and immunization records to registration.
March 1 Kindergarten Registration times:
• Cascade View Elementary: 1:30-3 pm, or 6-7:30 pm
• Fall City Elementary: 1:30-3 pm, or 6:30-8 pm
• North Bend Elementary: 1:30-3 pm, or 6-7:30 pm
• Opstad Elementary: 1:30-3 pm, or 6-7:30 pm
• Snoqualmie Elementary: 1:30-3 pm, or 6:30-8 pm
Snoqualmie Valley School District has two kindergarten options – half-day and full-day. Half-day kindergarten is completely state funded so there is no fee to attend. Half-day students attend either an AM or PM session Monday through Thursday and an extended session every other Friday. Full-day kindergarten requires tuition to fund a portion of teachers’ salaries since Washington state only funds a half day of kindergarten instruction. After completing the kindergarten registration packet, parents interested in full day Kindergarten should put their name on the full-day list at their home school. A lottery drawing determines which students get enrollment in the full-day program. Families participating in the lottery will be notified later in March.
Happy registering!
