Update: Wilderness Rim Stabbing Identified as Family Disturbance; Suspect Booked for Attempted Homicide

Update March 18, 2026: The King County Sheriff’s Office has provided additional details about the March 17 stabbing in the Wilderness Rim area.

According to investigators, the incident has been identified as a family disturbance in which two family members were injured and transported to the hospital.

One person was taken into custody at the scene and has since been booked into the King County Jail for attempted homicide.

The case remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit.

King County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a stabbing the morning of March 17 in the 42000 block of 173rd Place in the Wilderness Rim area.

Local social media began reporting numerous sirens and a significant law enforcement presence in the area just after 8 a.m.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, one person is in custody. The case is an active investigation by the Major Crimes Unit, and officials said that is all they can share at this time.

The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office said the earliest information on a first appearance would be tomorrow at 2 p.m. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
