A long-term traffic shift and speed limit reduction on State Route 203 south of Carnation begins Wednesday morning, Sept. 4, and will last up to six months.
Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will close one lane of SR 203 near 324th Way Northeast from 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, to place barriers and new lane markings. Flaggers will alternate traffic through the work zone.
Construction began last month on a fish barrier removal project along SR 203 where it crosses over an unnamed tributary to the Snoqualmie River. The new traffic configuration shifts vehicles around the work zone where a new bridge is being built. The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph throughout the area.
Weekday SR 203 flagging, which began earlier this summer, will continue for the duration of this project, which is expected to finish in 2025.
