One lane of State Route 202 will close overnight for three consecutive nights starting Monday, April 22, for utility work and construction on a temporary detour.
Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will close one lane on SR 202 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly from Monday, April 22, to Thursday morning, April 25. Flaggers will alternate traffic through the work zone.
This work precedes the opening of a temporary detour on SR 202 on Wednesday afternoon, April 24. The detour will route traffic around the work zone while crews build new bridges over Skunk Creek along SR 202 and Southeast Fish Hatchery Road. The bridges will replace culverts that block fish passage.
The temporary detour on SR 202 will last until August. Both lanes will remain open through the work zone with a 40-mph speed limit. Daytime single-lane closures will continue within the work zone until mid-May.
