State Route 18 will be reduced to a single lane with flaggers and pilot cars alternating eastbound and westbound traffic from 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Aug 21, south of the city of Snoqualmie.
The lane reduction will be between the Interstate 90 interchange and just south of Southeast 104th Street.
During the lane reduction, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will grind pavement and replace barriers. People traveling through the area should expect delays.
Interchange and SR 18 Improvements
The work is part of the I-90/SR 18 Interchange Improvements project, which is:
- Building a diverging diamond interchange to improve safety and keep traffic flowing.
- Widening two miles of SR 18 to two lanes in each direction between I-90 and Deep Creek.
- Building a new two-lane bridge over Raging River next to the existing bridge.
- Constructing two new four-lane bridges over Deep Creek and Lake Creek.
- Replacing six fish passage barriers with relocated, open-channel streams.
- Improving habitat connectivity for wildlife, including deer and elk.
