UPDATE: The SR 18 closures have been postponed due to weather.
State Route 18 will close for one night in each direction beginning Tuesday, Oct. 22, to complete pavement repairs south of Snoqualmie. Eastbound traffic will not be permitted over Tiger Mountain summit Tuesday night, Oct. 22, and westbound traffic will need to detour Tuesday night, Oct. 23.
During these closures, freight traffic should not use Issaquah-Hobart Road or Issaquah city streets, as these streets are unsuitable for trucks and heavy freight. Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will sawcut and seal a bridge, finishing pavement repairs that began in July. The work needs dry weather and may need to be rescheduled.
Eastbound SR 18 closure
From 11 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, to 4 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, no eastbound traffic will be allowed east of Issaquah-Hobart Road. People should follow one of two detours:
- All semi-trucks and freight should use northbound I-405 to eastbound I-90.
- Passenger vehicles may use northbound Issaquah-Hobart Road to northbound Front Street to eastbound I-90.
Westbound SR 18 closure
From 11 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, only local traffic will be allowed south of the eastbound I-90 on- and off-ramps. People heading westbound on SR 18 during the closure should follow one of two detours:
- All semi-trucks and freight traffic should use westbound I-90 to southbound I-405.
- Passenger vehicles may use westbound I-90 to southbound Front Street to southbound Issaquah-Hobart Road.
