Both State Route 18 on-ramps to westbound Interstate 90 will close from 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec.18, to 5 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, near Snoqualmie to prepare for future drainage installation.
Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will perform saw-cutting and locate utilities in the area. Crews also will repair a dip along one of the ramps. If work isn’t completed Wednesday night, the on-ramps will close simultaneously overnight Thursday, Dec. 19.
People can follow a signed detour using eastbound I-90 and looping around to westbound lanes at Southeast North Bend Way (exit 27).
The work is part of the I-90/ SR 18 Interchange Improvements project. In addition to constructing a new diverging diamond interchange, the project also is building:
- New four-lane bridges at Lake Creek and Deep Creek.
- A new two-lane bridge over Raging River next to the existing bridge.
- Widening two miles of SR 18 to two lanes in each direction.
