A weekend-long closure of the State Route 18/Snoqualmie Parkway on-ramp to westbound Interstate 90 Oct. 3-6 will allow crews to work toward putting the ramp in is final configuration.
From 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, to 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, people will need to follow a signed detour using eastbound I-90 and looping around at Southeast North Bend Way (exit 27).
While the ramp is closed, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will grind and grade the ramp, preparing it for paving. The westbound I-90 on-ramp will be the last portion of the new I-90/SR 18 diverging diamond interchange to be placed in its final configuration.
Crews also plan to finish installing permanent ramp metering, install guardrail, replace temporary barriers with permanent barriers and sample soil.
In addition to the new diverging diamond interchange, the I-90/SR 18 Interchange Improvements project is widening SR 18 to two lanes in each direction between I-90 and Deep Creek. That work is expected to finish later this fall.
Nighttime eastbound I-90 on-ramp closure
People traveling through the area also should expect the SR 18/Snoqualmie Parkway on-ramp to eastbound I-90 to close from 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, to 5 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3. They can follow a signed detour using eastbound I-90 and looping around at Preston-Fall City (exit 22).
Crews will install guardrail and landscaping during the nighttime ramp closure.
