The State Route 18 on-ramp to westbound Interstate 90 will close for three nights this week to allow for the construction of a permanent drainage pipe under the ramp near the city of Snoqualmie.
The ramp will close from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, through Friday morning, April 5.
People wanting to take westbound I-90 from SR 18 may follow a signed detour using eastbound I-90 to the exit at Southeast North Bend Way (exit 27) and loop back around to westbound I-90.
The ramp closure will create a work area for contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation to move equipment and materials in and out of the area. The permanent drainage pipe being installed will help manage stormwater runoff.
The work is part of WSDOT’s I-90/SR 18 Intersection Improvements project: building a diverging diamond interchange, widening SR 18 to two lanes in each direction for two miles, removing six fish passage barriers and constructing three new bridges.
