We’re one week into summer vacation, and if your kids are like mine, then there’s a chance you’ve already heard it, too: “I’m bored.”
If that’s the case, then there’s a great community event to help beat the “I’m bored” summer kid blues. Today, June 22nd, from 1-3PM at Snoqualmie Community Park, the YMCA is hosting its brand new event, Soccer in the Park.
Kids and parents should come ready to play and participate in soccer skill challenges and pick-up games. Watch the Tacoma Stars play an exhibition, then participants get a chance to compete with them. Kids can also meet a Seattle Sounder (still trying to find out which one) and collect autographs. There will also be bouncy houses because, let’s face it, what would a community event be without them?
Snoqualmie Y Director, Dave Mayer, says, “We are looking forward to this fun and energetic community event that celebrates the sport of soccer.”
You can still register for this afternoon’s free community event to guaranty a spot on the field. Luckily, soccer is a rain or shine sport so today’s possible rain showers won’t halt Soccer in the Park.
