Snoqualmie’s Project Grace Guild Hosts 5th Annual Dinner and Auction, Benefitting Seattle Children's Uncompensated Care

It all started with a simple question: “How has Seattle Children’s Hospital touched your life?”  If you have kids, chances are, somehow, Seattle Children’s has been entwined over the years.  Me?  We spent week there in 2008 as our 6-year old battled a bacterial bone infection.

The Project Grace Guild was established in 2007, when eight Snoqualmie Valley friends attended a Seattle Children’s Hospital charity auction. As they listened to personal stories from mothers, nurses and pediatric physicians that day, the friends went around the table and shared their own Seattle Children’s stories. They all had one, and while some experiences were scary and profound, their hospital experiences were still overwhelmingly positive.

The Project Grace Guild was born that afternoon,  as eight friends realized that not only had Seattle Children’s changed their lives, but that they all had a desire to give back.

The ladies researched and learned that a growing number of local families cannot afford their child’s medical costs and that Seattle Children’s treats all kids – regardless of their family’s ability to pay.

It was unanimously decided that the newly formed guild would support Seattle Children’s Hospital Uncompensated Care.

Today, The Project Grace Guild has grown from its eight founding members to 12. In 2011 their fundraising efforts earned them Top 25 Guild recognition, being one of 25 local guilds who combined raised more than $10 million dollars for Seattle Children’s with events and projects.

This Friday, March 8, 2013, The Project Grace Guild fundraising effort continues.  The guild of friends will host its 5th Annual Dinner and Auction event at Pickering Barn in Issaquah. A reception and silent auction begin at 6PM, with the dinner and  live auction immediately following.

There are still a few tickets left, which are $75 per person.  If you’re interested in attending, you can get tickets at the door or drop an email to projectgrace@hotmail.com,
