Snoqualmie YMCA Adds New Valley Kindergarten Enrichment Option For 2012 School Year

In Snoqualmie, a city where 35% of residents are under the age of 18, any new early education program is welcomed, especially among working parents.  Kindergarten enrichment is in big demand around Snoqualmie Valley.  SVSD’s tuition-based, full-day kindergarten program is lottery-based and the number of classes offered varies each year, dependent on available classroom space at the five elementary schools.  Sometimes there isn’t enough space to meet the demand of local parents.

Aiming to meet the growing kindergarten enrichment need, the Snoqualmie Valley YMCA announced this week the addition of its Kindergarten Plus Program:  Kindergarten Plus Flier.  According to Milissa Morgan, Director of Family Programs, Kindergarten Plus will “reinforce children’s classroom learning with a structured, academic enrichment program based on State and District standards that complement concepts introduced in the classroom.”  There will be a morning and afternoon Kindergarten Plus session to supplement both half-day SVSD kindergarten sections.

For more information on Kindergarten Plus and other new programming additions visit the Snoqualmie Valley Y Programs homepage.  Other new programs include Tween Scene, Summer Programs and Kids U session 3B.  For more information on these classes you can reach the Snoqualmie Y at 425-256-3156.
