Snoqualmie Welcomes Wildlife-Inspired Light Pole Banners to City Streets

To enhance public spaces with local art, the City of Snoqualmie, in partnership with the Snoqualmie Arts Commission, recently unveiled a series of new wildlife-themed streetlight banners throughout the city.

These vibrant banners, featuring the original artwork of local artist Susan Hass, showcase a fox, an owl, a chickadee, and a woodpecker, bringing a lively touch of nature to Snoqualmie streets.

Susan Hass’s artwork, selected from a public call for submissions, was created using relief painting, which gives the pieces a raised appearance and adds a unique dimensional effect.

This marks the first time the Snoqualmie Arts Commission has contacted the artist community for light pole banner designs, making the debut of these banners a notable milestone for the commission.

The banners will rotate with other seasonal installations, typically changed 3–4 times per year.

“We’re excited to feature the artwork of Susan Hass,” said Snoqualmie Arts Commission Staff Liaison Nicole Wiebe. “The commission found Susan’s wildlife submissions colorful and full of life. We hope the community enjoys this new art installation as they drive and stroll through the City.”
