Snoqualmie Valley Windstorm: Peak Gusts, Power Outage Progress, and Cleanup Efforts

The Upper Snoqualmie Valley continues to recover from yesterday’s windstorm, which left extensive damage and widespread power outages. Here’s the latest update:

Peak Wind Gusts

According to Snoqualmie Weather, as of 7 p.m. on November 19th, the strongest gusts recorded included:

  • Exit 32 (North Bend): 51 mph
  • Mount Si High School: 49 mph
  • Snoqualmie Ridge: 46 mph

Power Outages Update

At the height of the storm, around 9:30 p.m. on November 19th, nearly half a million Puget Sound Energy customers region-wide were powerless.

In North Bend, much of the power went out during the storm but was restored in many areas by late morning. However, in Snoqualmie, extensive outages remain, with many still without power as of 3:45 p.m. on November 20th.

Storm Damage and Cleanup Efforts

The storm caused significant tree failures in some Snoqualmie Ridge neighborhoods, while North Bend saw relatively less tree damage. City crews have been working tirelessly to clear debris and remove fallen trees. Their efforts are helping to restore a sense of normalcy as the community recovers from the storm’s impacts.

Looking Ahead

Another weather system is expected to move into the area Thursday night into Friday morning with possible wind gusts of up to 40 mph.
