The Snoqualmie Valley School District is closed, Monday, February 10, 2014. Earlier, schools were on a 2 hours delay, as some Valley areas were experiencing freezing rain and snow this morning.
The Snoqualmie Valley School District is geographically large and while some areas many not have inclement weather, other areas may. The district said, “Due to worsening weather and road conditions, we have had to close schools today.”
Readers reported heavy, sticking snow in the lower elevation areas of North Bend and freezing rain and slushy snow in the higher elevations. Cedar Falls Way leading up to Wilderness Rim was very icy, with cars blocking the road heading downhill. A district administrator also reported the freezing rain when the 2 hour delay was first announced around 5AM.
Snow was also reported in the Twin Falls Middle School area, near I-90 exit 34, where North Bend and Snoqualmie students attend school via various, and some long, long bus routes. On Snoqualmie Ridge, it was just rain. Fall City readers also reported rain.
AGAIN – All SVSD schools are now closed, February 10th – snow day for some and a rain day for others!

This just baffles me. It is raining hard and really windy here in Bandera — but there is no sign of snow or ice anywhere. At least not yet.
Look at the pics in the story. LOTS of snow in downtown North Bend areas and out at TFMS…. and now freezing rain on top of that snow.
