Snoqualmie Valley Relay for Life Kick-off Event Tonight!

Today, February 28th, is an opportunity for  Snoqualmie Valley community members to help kick-start the 2013 Relay for Life Event.  The Kick-Off event will be at the North Bend Theatre on Bendigo Blvd  from 5 – 6PM.

Relay for Life is an overnight cancer fundraising walk.  Team members camp out where the walk occurs and then take turns walking laps. Relay for Life is a family friendly environment that features food, games and activities.

The event also features a luminary time when candles are lit to honor those battling and those lost to cancer.

The Snoqualmie Valley Relay for Life organizers invited the community to come out tonight and see what they’re all about and how you can be involved.

They will have information tables available for general questions, a survivor table for sign ups and information, a Luminaria table.  The registration crew will also be on hand to help participants sign up as a team or individual.

There also be a special drawing tonight with lots of goodies.  Immediately following the Relay for Life kick-off open house, there will be a fundraiser movie – ET.

Tickets for tonight’s event are $8.00 in advance or $10.00 at the door, which includes  movie, popcorn and a soda.

Tickets can be purchased at Pioneer Café in North Bend, Another Hair Place or at the door.

This is Relay for Life’s 12th year in the Snoqualmie Valley and organizers say each year their event is a life changing experience for everyone involved. They have 15 teams registered already and feel they are  on the way to another successful event.

Snoqualmie Valley Relay for Life is changing things up a bit this year, moving the event to August 17-18 at Torgusson Park in North Bend.
