On May 12, 2025, the Snoqualmie City Council approved new utility rates for the years 2025-2030.
The new rates were approved after approximately one year of work by Council and staff to determine rates intended to support City-owned utilities and address inflationary impacts on residents and businesses.
The approved rate increase to the average residential monthly bill is approximately 3% – 7% annually. The multifamily rate increase is approximately 1% – 2% annually. The commercial rate increase is 4% – 12% annually.
During the rate study process, the City Council requested additional analyses to confirm the need for the proposed increases. The final approved rates are 5% lower than those considered in January 2025.
The new utility rates go into effect on June 1, 2025. The reduced rate program for income-qualified customers will remain in place.
About Snoqualmie Utilities
The City of Snoqualmie provides water, sewer, and stormwater utility services to city and non-city customers. Per Washington State law, utility rates must cover the operations and capital improvements of the associated utilities.
As such, the City regularly conducts utility rate reviews to ensure those rates match the revenues required to operate the combined utility. The most recent rate study, launched in 2024, considered needed utility capital improvement projects and the impacts of inflationary levels and rate class usage on the water, sewer, and stormwater utilities.
