Snoqualmie Snow Update

After areas of the Snoqualmie Valley picked up around 6-8 inches of snow during Friday’s storm, the city is offering a few updates/reminders for residents. Also remember there is the possibility of more snow Sunday – Tuesday, along with chilly daytime – and very cold overnight -temperatures.

GARBAGE PICK UP SCHEDULE
Residents whose garbage pick up was missed can put out a double load on their scheduled pick up day this week. This is also true in North Bend and Fall City.

MOVE CONTAINERS AND CARS OFF STREETS
Plows and sanders are continuing to maintain the streets and need to be able to access roads from curb to curb. Move all garbage containers out of the streets and onto the planter strips. Please also move all vehicles off the roads into garages and driveways, doubling when possible. Garbage containers and cars were blocking the plows/sanders on Friday.

POLICE ASSISTANCE
If your car stops in the road or you need assistance, please stay in the car and dial 911. A Snoqualmie police offer will respond as quickly as possible. Remember, “No Call Too Small.”

ABANDONED VEHICLES IN ROADWAYS
If you abandoned your vehicle, please pull it off the road as far as possible to avoid blocking moving vehicles and snow plows. Abandoned vehicles may be towed to clear the roads for safety.

PEDESTRIAN SAFETY
Wear brightly colored clothing when walking. Please keep children out of the streets before, during, and after snowstorms as plows prepare and maintain streets throughout the storm.

SIDEWALK MAINTENANCE
According to Snoqualmie Municipal Code 12.16.600 (B)(3): Maintenance of driveway approaches and all sidewalks shall be the responsibility of the owner whose property they serve.
