Snoqualmie Seeks Applicants to Fill Vacant City Council Position 6

The City of Snoqualmie is accepting applications from Snoqualmie residents to fill a vacancy for Position 6 on the Snoqualmie City Council.

This position was previously held by Councilmember Cara Christensen, who stepped down effective March 16, 2026, as she and her family prepare to relocate out of the area.

The term of the position begins upon a candidate’s appointment by a majority vote of the City Council and expires after the results of the November 2027 general election are certified. Under state law, the City Council must appoint a replacement within 90 days of March 17, 2026.

Residents interested in applying for the Council vacancy must be 18 years old, have resided in the City of Snoqualmie for at least 1 year prior to Council appointment, and be registered to vote in the City of Snoqualmie.

Deadline and Upcoming Dates 
Applications are due on or before 5 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2026. Candidate interviews will take place on April 27, 2026, and the City Council vote and Oath of Office may occur on the same day.
