Snoqualmie Ridge Community Garage Sale Runs May 17th & 18th, Including “Garage Sale for a Cause”

The annual Snoqualmie Ridge community-wide garage sale starts tomorrow, May 17, 2013 and runs through Saturday, May 18th.  Hours both days are 9AM-4PM. Historically many seasoned garage sale shoppers have been known to start driving the neighborhoods by 8AM, looking for the best “early pickings.”

Beware, streets get congested with “looky-loo” drivers searching for treasures and deals, especially in the area of Cascade View Elementary during its Friday early release time of 1PM.

This year there is a special breast cancer fundraiser garage sale happening at 6817 Silent Creek Ave SE.

Local resident Dena McLauchlin lost a good friend to cancer in December 2011 and since then has been an active fundraiser, helping to find a cure for breast cancer.  Last year she completed her first 3-Day 60 mile cancer fundraiser walk.

She plans to do the walk again this summer.  To make that happen, Dena is opening up her garage during this year’s sale, with all proceeds benefiting her 2013 3-Day Breast Cancer walk efforts.

Co-workers from Fall City Elementary school and neighbors generously donated many sale items to help. Dena’s garage is bursting with lots of great furniture, outdoor gear, baby clothing, christmas decor, books and toys.  Look for the pink signs and you can garage sale for a good cause.

For residents wishing to donate items not sold in the garage sale, Goodwill and Kiwanis donation trailers will be available at Snoqualmie Community Park, 35016 SE Ridge Street.  Snoqualmie Valley Kiwanis will be collecting clothing in children’s sizes 0-14 in support of Eastside Baby Corner.

Donation hours:

• Goodwill – Saturday, May 18th 11AM-7PM and Sunday, May 19th,  9AM-5PM
• Kiwanis – Saturday, May 18th,  3-7pm and Sunday, May 19th,  1-5PM
