The City of Snoqualmie switch from garbage service provider Allied Waste to Waste Management (WM) is nearing. Although the new service will not officially change until June 4, Waste Management will be swapping out yard waste containers beginning May 21. Here’s what residents need to know.
ALL yard waste customers should put out their full yard waste containers on their regular garbage collection day during the week of May 21 –this week! That means that even if this week is not your usual yard waste collection week, you need to put out your container. Another container will be left for you at that time.
Dates to Note
- Week of May 21 All yard waste customers put out their yard waste container on regular garbage/recycle collection day; a new container will be left for compostables (yard waste/food scraps). Note: Yard waste customers whose yard waste collection day is NOT the week of May 21 should put out their yard waste container anyway.
- Week of May 28 Regular collections days for garbage/recycle; new garbage and recycle containers will be left.
- June 1 Customers whose garbage/recycle is usually collected on June 1 will have collection on June 4 instead.
- Week of June 4 Waste Management will be the official service provider for garbage, recycle, and compostables (yard waste/food scraps).
All Snoqualmie residents and businesses will receive Waste Management information packets this week. The information includes your service options, rates, detailed recycling information and an overview of the service transition process.
